Sandblasting Cabinet

Do NOT put sand in the sandblaster! ONLY use a real blasting media with a known grit size.

Quick Start Guide

  1. Completely wash and dry your workpiece before locking it in the cabinet. Use both latches.
    • Why? Water and oils make the blasting media clog up, which then has to be replaced.
  2. Set the air compressor to under 90 psi, and connect to the blue gun hose.
  3. Check there is enough blasting media in the bottom of the cabinet. About halfway up the sloped bottom is a good minimum.
  4. Remove port covers from the left and back side of the cabinet, keep them in the drawer.
  5. Connect a shop vac to the left side exhaust port
    • This keeps dust down, otherwise it's hard to see!
  6. Turn on shop vac and plug in overhead light
  7. Use gloves to manipulate workpiece and pull the trigger to spray media in smooth strokes
    Please avoid
    • Spraying the rubber gloves
    • Spraying the clear film on the inside of the window
    • Smacking the tip of the blasting gun against things: it is ceramic and somewhat fragile
  8. When done sandblasting:
    1. Remove workpiece and double latch cabinet door
    2. Unplug light, return shop vac
    3. Replace the left and backside port covers
      • Keeping the cabinet sealed keeps it dry, prolonging blasting media life
    4. Return air compressor to original pressure
