Materials Needed:

  1. Electric Iron
  2. Plastic tube for cold water rinse
  3. Tables / Cutting space
  4. Printed black and with image/icon
  5. Cardboard box
  6. Tape (masking)
  7. Tub of iced water for cold soak fabric treatment
  8. Gal Bleach $20
  9. Latex gloves $8.99
  10. Large Roll (Freezer Paper) $9-30
  11. Exacto Knives $8.99 x8
  12. 20 oz mini spray bottles $5.29 x6
  13. Fabric spray paint $8.99-$14.21

Manual Instruction:

  1. Cut two sturdy pieces of from a recycled cardboard box.
  2. Place artwork on top of one of the pieces of cardboard.
  3. Tap your artwork to the cardboard.
  4. Cut a piece of waxed paper to size.
  5. Place waxed sheet over artwork.
    • Waxed side down
    • Tape waxed sheet to cardboard.
  6. Use a pencil to completely outline you image.
    • Create an abstract outline of any detailed images
  7. After your image is fully outline, carefully cut around your stencil.
    • Do not cut completely around the entire stencil*
    • Do not remove your stencil from the wax sheet*
  8. Take the other piece of cardboard, and cut the edges so that they are rounded
  9. Place the second piece of cardboard under the surface of the fabric.
  10. This will act as a barrier between both sides of your garment.
    • Make sure to place cardboard is positioned, and clip down edges of fabric
    • Make sure cardboard size is appropriate for surfaces*
  11. Place wax paper with stencil on top the garment over the cardboard barrier.
  12. Carefully orient your wax paper stencil to the prefered position on you garment.
    • Make sure all other exposed areas of your garment are covered with wax paper to prevent unwanted splashes.
  13. Iron wax paper stencil onto garment.
    • Wax paper will safely adhere most untextured cloth garment.
  14. The surface of you garment should be visible through the cut outline
    • For non-cloth & solid material an alternative stencil material is necessary.
    • Remove cut portion of wax paper from your applied stencil sheet.
  15. Take mini spray bottles.
    • Fill one with pure bleach
    • Fill the other with ½-¼ bleach & add water to fill
    • Preferably distilled water for ironing
  16. Situate your work station for application.
    • Ready some paper towels for dabbing potential seepage
  17. Begin with a few sprays to cover entire design area.
    • A visible fade will appear as you are applying bleach
    • Do not allow liquid to seep through wax paper (dab as you go)
    • Apply full bleach solution or ½ solution till preferred shade or lightness
    • Darker colored garments may need more bleach than light colors
  18. Let surface sit for about 10 mins after applying pure bleach
    • Carefully peel away your wax paper stencil to remove it from the surface of the garment
    • stencil s may be reused if intacs after removal from garment.
  19. Run garment under cold water for 1-2min to wash out excess bleach.
    • Do not leave garment bleaching longer than 10min
    • Bleach can eat through fabric
  20. Machine wash and dry.

Enjoy, your finished garment is ready to wear.
